PROJECTS
The CO3 project, with its roots in Stone Town's built cultural heritage, is not just about the importance of preserving Stone Town's structures, but also about the inseparable sociocultural aspects.
The process of undertaking smaller, diverse projects, workshops, exhibitions, and other collaborative experiments is important to its overall development. Starting in 2022, the workshop "Scales of Cities" examined the relationship between building typologies and their cultural, societal, and economic relevance within the city. In 2023, a further workshop considered the potential of identifying, transforming, and activating a selected heritage building. In 2024, the workshop "ACCESSUS" addressed the design issues of making public heritage buildings accessible to all.

Since 2023, students from the School of Architecture Bremen, Ardhi University Dar es Salaam, and the Karume Institute of Science and Technology have been identifying, surveying, and documenting the unique typologies of Stone Town.
